Our Large Black gilt had her first litter this week :excited: Dad was a lovely registered GOS (we couldn't get an unrelated LB boar without a considerable drive and since she was a gilt we decided to go for the 'guarenteed first time' method instead of messing about with AI (that's the plan for future litters )
I was expecting one or two spotty pigs (at least) but they all look like little baby blacks - super cute mega ears ;D
They're only coming up to a week old now, but we're taking bookings for anyone who wants weaners around the end of September (tie it in with coming to the Smallholder & Grower Festival at Lanark if you want to - we'll bring them over for you ;))
We'll have gilts and castrated boars and also due (hopefully imminently :fc:) are a litter of OSB's cross GOS - both mammies run together and will do with their piglets, so there shouldn't be any problems if you want ginger spotty pigs too :innocent:
