I know there was a post on here to say who had what breeds for eggs/stock. But after spending hours trying to find it I can't.
I have just purchased yet another incubator - a second hand 360 egg Brinsea one this time and will be wanting to put some eggs in it in the next month or so, once I have moved the 50 chicks from the last hatch. I just thought it would be easier to have one with separate trays than have three or four on the go at once. I also have hatcheries once they are ready. And this time we will make sure that we put a surge protector on it. After a power cut a couple of months ago my Polyhatch incubators aren't stable. A lady from Brinsea was at the New Forest Show on Monday and told me to send it back to be checked out. So once it is empty again I will

Need to watch out for poor fertility this time of year - many hens will be coming off lay due to moulting and the hot weather will probably have had a big effect. I prefer to finish hatching by the end of July, partly because of lower fertility and also because I like the growers to be well grown and fully feathered going into Winter - our hilltop is not for the fragile!
