Title: Natural Pest Control
Post by: sabrina on July 28, 2009, 11:32:40 am
I have been going out every morning to remove eggs or caterpillars from my plants and feed them to the chickens. Most of my cabbage has been grown under fleece but i have sprouts and cauilflower being attacked hence the daily check. Much to my delight this morning I came across a frog in among the plants so gave it the go ahead to eat as many pest as it could. :)

I find the cabbage white caterpillars too fiddly to pick! But the gooseberry sawfly were a decent size for the birds. the gooseberry looks utterly miserable, hopefully will recover next spring... I have toads under nearly every board - no slugs for the birds! :&>
