2 of our Kunekune sows have farrowed this week :excited:
Both have 8 piglets and they're a lovely mix of colours - some look good enough for breeding too
Buttercup has a wee boar who's just stunning - black & white, 2 piri's and 14 evenly spaced teats :fc: he makes it to weaning :fc: Though I've got to say, these two are much more careful than Adelaide who just plonks herself down wherever ::)
Buttercup is a Kereopa and Bluebelle is a Rebecca Gina - piglets were sired by Big Red (Andrew bloodline) so if anyone is looking for breeding stock - in particular, boars, please let me know asap or else it'll be a trip to the vet for castration shortly :-\
Enjoy the pics ;)

Just look at all those ginger ones

Gorgeous  :pig:

They look lovely Karen. I'm not a kune fan but I do like the idea of having litters of different colour pigs.
-
Lovely litters Karen
I'm so looking forward to seeing what Louise produces from Big Red in October :excited:
 :pig:  x

;D Nah, pure Kunekune (he's a ginger boar ;) Big Red ;D) though I do have a OSB x Kunekune out in the field growing on for a 'grow your own' customer though.
She's stunning  She was born at the end of December (OSB mum, Kunekune dad) She's not growing as fast as pure OSB - probably about the same speed as a Large Black - but she's doing it on 1 pound of pig nuts per day and grazing grass. She's lovely and lean (but not skinny) and has a bit more length and depth to her that the pure KK - photo of her below (next to a Kunekune born July last year - looking a little hunched cos she's peeing ::))

Also, here are some recent photo's of the Kunekune piglets (they're soooooo cute !)
I'm getting the top one printed up onto blank cards :excited:

Great pictures and the Kune x OSB is gorgeous. Really like the look of that black and white Kune piglet, I want! Shame you are so far away.

They are lovely :pig: great pictures.

Are you going to be selling the top one (with an orange and black/white piglet) you are putting onto blank cards? It's a fantastic photo and wouldn't mind buying some myself - Tamsaddle

Yes and yes ;D The top one as well as some others that I've not posted (too many photo's to choose from lol!) I'm still waiting for the printers to come back to me with prices, but will let you know asap Tamsaddle and get something sorted out for you (with a TAS discount obviously ;))

Remind me HH do you have GOS?
-
No I don't MKay, I hired a registered boar from a prize winning herd ;) (worth his weight in gold too - stunning piglets and plenty of gilts !)
We needed a 'big breed' boar to get my Large Black & OSB gilts in-pig and were looking at horrendous travelling times to source 2 seperate unrelated boars for them - so we crossed for the first litter (the GOS boar is only around an hour away) and will AI them both from now on
Are you looking for GOS ? If yes, message Lisa, 'Pink Piggies' on here or look out for the Hazlieburn Herd facebook page
