Found mummy runner duck under the duck house yesterday with what looked like about 4 or 5 babies but no way for me to get them out of there. Real panic this morning when I looked under and there was 1 dead one lying and no sign of any more, looked round to see if I could find mum only to see her swimming around the pond with 7 ducklings in tow. They all seem very happy and are eating there duck crumb. Had another look under the house and found 2 eggs which were in the process of hatching but a bit cold so have helped them out and put them in the brooder for the night, hopefully mum will take them back tomorrow. :&>
Anyone want some white runners?

Perfectly normal for mum to abandon late hatchers in favour of the young she already has Daisy's Mum. She may accept the late ones but you will have to introduce them at night. Hopefully she won't kill them as intruders.
