Well I opened my big mouth and offered my services as a Steward at our local show next month. Am I mad!! Maybe they won't want me, but I bet they do. I said I couldn't speak Welsh, but I couldn't speak English either.
What am I letting myself in for? :)

Best of luck Kaz - sure you'll be fine :fc:

I know quite a lot of the local sheep showing lot around here. It is a Welsh speaking stronghold, but there again there is no swear words in Welsh, so when they don't get the place they hoped for I'll know what they are talking about. ;D

My husband stewarded the Stafford show a few years back, it happened because he works for NFU mutual but he has no interest in livestock and spent his time there reluctantly! I'm sure you will be fine - could be enjoyable even!

The only welsh phrase i know and pardon the spelling is quada geg which is shut your gob! :roflanim:
buut seriously being a show steward is an onerous task, we go to a lot of local one day shows that without volunteer stewards couldn't go ahead and i know i for one have been guilty of being very grumpy with them (parking chaos at Honley) so its not always the easiest of jobs.
Good management of the volunteers is essential and sometimes theres too many chiefs :-J and not enuff indians.
I'm sure you'll do a grand job kaz and get some time off to see the show.
all the best
mandy :pig:
