I want it too. Why does it have to be so far away?

I'm quite close - but would have no idea what to do with it! Might be something I'll want in the future but it's a big thing to have hanging around

is it an unusual find or are there lots around?

Are you going for it?

I'll have a go but I have no idea of its value?

I have one like that waiting in a shed until my big wool shed is completed as they are chunky and need space both for warping and for weaving.

Mine was second hand at least ten years ago and I paid £50.  It's for big hefty floor rugs - I'm hoping to use up lots of the less spinnable fleeces some of my Hebs produce.

They date back to the '70s I believe when the self sufficiency craze first got off the ground.  I've no idea how many there are still around.

I would think that £50 even ten years ago would be a good price.

The lady selling it had had a large extension built onto her house JUST for her new huge dobby loom  :o

So - did anyone here get it?

I decided that with all the stuff I am doing to the house, I simply don't have room for something as big at the moment.  Good news is my OH decided to buy me a 24" table top loom from Woolfest today!  Huzzah!  Very excited.
