I'm buying a group of Embden geese as the seller wont split due to wanting a quick sale and they are in need of a new home. I want to sell a few but not sure how much?
They are young (first year of lay) and in pairs.
What should I charge?
-
i use to sell mine for £50 a pair but have seen them go for £100 each at our local mart.
-
Where is your local mart? I'll send them up!!!
-
most people our way are selling pairs £40-£50 at min
-
I was offered £20 a pair.... Think I might be advertising
-
they are £30 each in tesco freezer so dont sell em too cheap.
-
I think £25 -£30 a goose is fair all day long male or female, but have seen them go for upto £40 each & goslings £5 but their very pricey this year due to a lot of people having bad hatches x
-
My goslings were sold at £5 each but we were just covering costs really, we had no hatching problems, all raised by parents and uncle/aunty:-)) and they were unsexed, sexed ones would multiply the price several times over.
Older geese would be maybe £30-40 for a Laying goose, £10-20 for a gander, or a pair for £50 ish.

Thank you for the help everyone! Best places to advertise?
-
here :-))) and local feed stores - horsey and agricultural, also if that doesn't work, local Facebook pages horsey and buy /sell ones, even Gumtree.
However if they are well priced they will sell well, as they are good guard alarms for livestock etc.

That's a very good point! I will get it a go
