Good morning, can i just say a really big thank you to Wee Eck and Fanackapan who have gone out of their way for me and i am now going to be the proud owner of 15 new rescue hens thanks to all their efforts.

:excited: how exciting for you. No work likely to be done for some time, after Tuesday ;D
Have you had hens before? We are on our third year and have started the process of hatching our own ::) so addictive, but I was warned I'd get the Needmorehensitis virus at some point ;D
Dont forget the piccies  and well done Wee Eck and Fanackapan :trophy:

I am sure Eck will reply later but he is having ONE OF THOSE DAYS at work >:(.
We are as happy as Ionahenatlast as she will be our first official rehoming for Homes4Hens, now that we are the official Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire collection point.
Hope this is the start of a busy time for us as we would love to see more of these lovely hens rehomed.

Hi
Arrived at our Atlantic Quay building this morning to discover that we had a power cut so....No phones...No lighting.......no Pcs....My phone battery was dead and I thought I would simply charge it up once I was in work ???
So first job was telling staff on their arrival that building was closed, just go home. It's the first time I have seen so many ;D members of staff !!!!!!!!!!
Annie & I are pretty :excited: too about the thought of getting our collection point up and running, we are really looking forward to meeting Mr & Mrs Ionahenatlast who have the honour of being our very first customers
ECK

Wee Eck we were very envious of colleagues in Atlantic Key this morning. I'm based in VQ, in Edinburgh.

It's always exciting knowing you have new animals/poultry coming but to know that you will also be given some badly treated hens a lovely life makes it special.

Wee Eck you are right that would be much worse. Bad enough to hear about it much more annoying to see it in person and not be able to join in.

Mammyshaz, yes i've got some ex batts already and my son turned 12 at the end of last month and asked both his grans to get him black rock chooks for his birthday so we have 5 of them. I have to admit i have a soft spot for them they are very gawky and awkward looking just now and getting bullied something terrible from my jealous chooks but they have more than enough space to keep out of their way if they wanted to, they just don't seem to have worked that out yet ;D

Sounds like you and the family are well and truly suffering from Needmorehensitis :D

Hi Jill
Annie & I would love to have the capacity that you have so that we could have a lot more hens...sounds brilliant.
Looking forward to Tuesday

Great to hear you've got a rescue hen point set up - I'm working on a future customer for you, she's got a second viewing on her house in West Lothian today (finger crossed) and after a year on the market is hoping to get the sale sorted and buy up my way before the end of the year, after which she has agreed she will need a "few hens" - and we all know how a few can become a few more.. She's only got 5 acres and a big house and pretty much takes up half the livery yard next door which is costing her a fortune so is looking at 15-20 acres so I think she'll be surprised how many "few hens" she might need to fill the gaps after she settles in.. ;D
