Post by: bloomer on June 11, 2013, 07:42:08 am
just thought i'd see if anyone can use it

am ripping out an old palisade fence today its all inch thick boards in a poor state plus some thicker posts etc will be about an 8x4 trailer full just thrown in not broken up,

will make excellent kindling etc.

if anyone within 20 miles of Alloa wants it and calls me on 07711 540632 i can deliver it in a heap somewhere convenient for you.

Otherwise its going to the tip

Would Doganjo not like it?
Is the wood treated?
We burnet some stuff that was and it gives off horrid toxic fumes.
We have quite a lot but who knows if we will still  be here for the winter, so with 2 big open fires it may be worth while....but not treated wood...

its all treated just fence preserver not the older creosotes etc so not too bad to burn in a log burner

Not sure as we have open fires, Anne maybe could use it then?  I hate to refuse wood, we get through tons of the stuff....

I ment to add, I am stuck in so cannot even come to look or collect, we have some windows being glazed some time today and a guest arriving later in the afternoon but not sure when, I will not go out until Steve is back and thats after 6 tonight, unless the window is done early and the guest gets here early too...I hate being stuck in ::)

I'm the same, can't refuse wood as I use so much but I think I'm more than 10 miles away and have an open fire too so maybe better not burning anything treated..

Happy to have it here, David - loads of room to store until someone needs it(Ellie, you can pick up from me next time you're going south), and can use some myself.  Thanks for thinking of me Sandy.

Thanks Annie, but to be honest I rarely leave a 5 mile zone from my house now and tho I keep meaning to come visit you (and grovel for assistance on the usual matter  :-\ ) I barely actually go further than Newburgh once a week for the library and co-op visits my social highlights!

I keep meaning to get in touch for the same reason - how about I come over next week sometime - I think Is till have some of your paperwork under my desk!  I could maybe get some logs in the dog cages
