Title: Sexing chicks
Post by: mojocafa on June 10, 2013, 05:07:16 pm
I have had a couple of spangled Russian orloffs hatch today, one is a yellow ball of fluff, the other is yellow with a line of brown down it. I know with other breeds this is a means to sexing . What do you think?

Cheers mojo

Wow aren't they pretty - just found this website.  Haven't looked to see if you can sex chickens but it shows yellow ones and speckled ones.
Edited - what website - I forgot to add the link Dimbo.com  :innocent:

Determining the sex of chicks by their marking is done on the 'autosexing' breeds. I know Cream Legbars autosex but I don't know if Orloffs are in that category Mojocafa. Perhaps it's just colour variation?
