Title: Ram Lamb with Dry Cough
Post by: novicesmallholder on June 07, 2013, 10:58:43 pm
Hi all,

quite a few of our lambs started coughing, and as they have not been moved onto new pasture for a few months, decided to abitarily worm the whole flock with Albacin last Sunday. Coughing seems to have stopped except for one ram lamb who seems to have a dry cough. Seems ok apart from this.
Got the vet coming wed for horse jags and to drop Schmallenberg vaccination off so will ask him then. Any ideas if we could do anything beforehand.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Sounds like lung worm as the others have stopped coughing. Try worming the lamb again because sometimes the wormer can bypass the correct stomach if its not administered at the very back of the throat.

Best Wishes
