Title: HELP
Post by: Bobby on July 18, 2009, 05:47:18 pm
Our 4 chickens have only been laying a few days.  One of them went into the nest box and laid an egg today - I was there, so collected it - attached to it was what looked like poo, but there was a tiny thin white worm wriggling in it.  I have been adding cider vinegar to the water and change this every day and the coop and run has been cleaned regularly - all the birds seem perfectly healthy.  Any ideas what this is and how can I get rid of it
Thanks
Bobby

worms and don't panic. get some flubenvet. or vermex and follow the instructions. At the same time check for lice and treat if you find them.

should you routinely worm chickens and if so, how often?

depends on how many hens you have but every 3-6 months.
