RIP Bill Pertwee , the air warden , Mr Hodges , in Dads Army , has died aged 86 .
A very funny man and very clever too . Always pleasant and good natured , shame we didn't see more of him over the years .
He was a cousin to Jon Pertwee (father of Sean) aka Dr Who and Wurzel Gummage , and also Micheal Pertwee , who wrote some of the ealing comedies .
Put that light out !

I loved "Dad's Army". As funny now as it ever was.

Thats where I got confused as I thought it was Wurzel Gummage then was put right......I love Dads army too, so silly yet so clever and funny........

British comedy at its best ..... not one swear word needed, true talent

Dad's Army can still be heard on Radio 4 extra and it's still as good as ever it was.
RIP Bill.
