Title: Aubergine or weed?

We have not grown aubergines before but decided to give it a go this year.  We planted as per instructions and grew this.  Is it an aubergine plant or do we have a healthy looking weed here?

It is indeed a healthy weed by the looks of it!   :'(

lol, its a bit like my 'leek' that i nurtured but turned out to be grass! I still have it in the pot, its doing very well  :) :-J

Just for fun - what sort of weed do we think it is?  Milk thistle?
