Title: Is Virginia Creeper poisonous to sheep?
Post by: HamishMcMurray on May 02, 2013, 08:31:59 am
We've got a large outbuilding covered in Virginia Creeper in a field where we plan to put our sheep (Shetlands and Hebrideans). Is it poisonous to sheep or will they be OK if they eat it?

Hi,I was interested in this as i had been thinking of covering a steel shipping container in this on my property.  I have just had a quick look on the internet and it seems that the berries are toxic, but might be worth you checking a few more sites than i have done.  For me if there is any question of something being toxic I dont risk it.  The building probably looks stunning covered in it, so personally i would stick a fence around it, just to keep both safe and save you alot of work.
