Title: PRICE OF LAMB
Post by: zarzar on April 25, 2013, 09:07:38 pm
Hi i was just wondering what prices people are charging for lamb this year as our 5 are booked in for middle of may and a couple family and friends want some of meat so just wanted a rough idea on what people charge for 1/4, 1/2, whole lamb.

Id look at somewhere between £7-£9 per kg. What would you be happy with?

Depends on how much it's cost you to produce it :).

I do £60 per half, sometimes £45-£55 though for close family or friends.

£8 per kg seems about right. Make sure you don't get to generous and do not cover your costs.Alternately a fixed half lamb price regardless of size is easier to sell. I am selling half Hebs for £75 this year.

I charge £80/half or £150 per whole, cut up etc.

Will be wilts horns so will be fairly big, but I'm thinking I'm probably too cheap at that.
