Just been quoted between £347 and £466 ton, have gone with the £347 from East Coast Viners, this gives me a mixed ton with weaner, grower and finisher. Got to say the service is excellent I used them last year too with good results.
What is everyone else paying just now?

Hi Anne. This week I paid £8.65 for a 25kg bag of sow pellets and I'm paying £200 per ton for some good quality wheat.
I feed my poultry with the wheat but I intend feeding the pigs on some of it milled.

If Google is correct and the convertion is 907kg to the ton, that would make the price cheaper by the bag than in bulk?
???
-
By ton, don't we actually mean metric tonnes, i.e. 1000 kg though?
-
Yes metric tonne 1000kg
-
Even so - at £8.65 it's still 346 a ton. is £8.65 a cheap price? Blimey - just looked up my local supplier - £10.30!!!!

I paid £350 for bagged 1000kg Marriages sow cubes last month. I expect to pay about the same next week but I'm going to ring around just in case.

I buy mine 3 tonnes at a time, blown into a hopper, and it works out at £250 per tonne from BOCM. Worth thinking whether a couple of smallholders could share a load to save costs.
-
I paid 9.28 for a 25kg sack from BATA at Carlton. Is normally £1 cheaper a bag when buy 40 (1 tonne) but dont have enough pigs to do this now.
Beef finisher nut 8.60 per 25kg
-
Just paid £317/ton for Heygates sow nuts (Collected direct from the mill)
-
Just paid £6.30 per 20kg bag sow nuts - so £315 per tonne from our local agri merchants - Gwinear District Farmers
-
Just paid 350 quid for a tonne of marriages sow cubes. Works out at 7 quid for a 20kg bag. I could have had others for around the same price but I like the marriages because it's in paper bags not plastic.
