Our firstborn lamb Pedro is coming up for 2 weeks old now. It was his dam Elfie's first lambing although she is 3yo. Her sister-come-aunt Roswitha (sorry about the name) was bred last year but not this year. From the start, the two ewes shared the lamb - not to feed but to care for. They walk along side by side, with Pedro in the middle. When Elfie goes off to graze, Ros does the caring, and vice versa. Now there are plenty of other lambs, Ros does the crèche for everyone - a lovely auntie ;D
I think it's quite sweet :sunshine:

That's just delightful. We have babysitters every year in our flock. You'll spot one saint of a ewe with the lambies forming a heaving woolly mountain on top of her-jumping on and off again.

That's so sweet.
We have all hebs apart from Bee, our Shetland. She is the chief babysitter, she also looks after other ewes when they are off colour and befriends everyone. She used sleep next to a Shetland pony who hated everybody except Bee.
