Title: Countryfile
Post by: Mr Pig on July 06, 2009, 09:02:06 am
Did anyone see Countryfile lasty night? The Adam Henson piece on his first judging experience at Three Counties Show was excellent - good to see a large turnout of very good quality rare breed stock.

I love countryfile but since it's moved time I tend to miss it, when it was on on Sunday morning we used to sit and had a coffee and watch it, I may look on Iplayer.

I watch it every week just to see Adam Henson!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also I like the info of course.  Now found out you can eat some weeds!! I knew they couldn't be here for nothing other than causing me such hassle.

I missed the program (again), but some weeds are great before our own crops start off properly. We tend to eat early ground elder leaves in salads, lovely carrotty flavour. You can also cook it like spinach. Chick weed had quite a nutty flavour, chopped into sandwiches or soups. I'd love to make some dandelion root coffee in the autumn, never got around to that yet. :&>

SNAP     We used to use it as a good excuse to STOP, have coffee and relax for an hour whilst it was on, ..... and then carry on again after.  Now that its on at 7pm, we have to record it and watch it when we get chance in the week..................and which is sometimes the following Sunday morning ?!?!?!   Only trouble is the all important weather forcast is a bit out of date  ::) ::)
