Title: Open wounds
Post by: The Chicken Lady on July 05, 2009, 06:34:53 pm
I had my sheep sheared this weekend and they have got a few nicks on them. The shearer put some blue spray on some of them. So far they are OK but I can see flies landing on these wounds. What would be the best thing to put on them?

Or you can buy a spray that will kill any flystrike and acts as a deterant too

They should be ok, its like a shaving cut and blue spray is an anti biotic one. The likelihood of flystrike is very low but as Dans says a pot of yellow fly cream is a good thing to have handy!
