Title: Creative pigs
Post by: JMB on April 04, 2013, 09:50:46 pm
Hello.
One of my kunekunes , Brother, likes to take mouthfuls of straw and hay and decorate the field with it in corners and by trees. The other two don't do this.
I asked a pig expert once and he said they had too much bedding and they didn't eat hay, so he was finding a way to dispose of it. But they do eat hay.
I like to think he has a creative side .
Does anyone else's pig do this? Or do I just have a special boy?

I'm afraid I have two that do exactly the same (and it's brother's sister and mum  ::) :D)
While they've been in the shed over winter, both have taken to removing a mouthful of fresh bedding from their (perfectly constructed) bed and placing it at the far corner of the pen - they're a little strange  :innocent: but it could be my fault  :roflanim:

Give them a pile of bricks and a pile of sticks and see what they make of that HH, or would they need planning permission first

Huff and puff piggies  ;D

I don't think they'd manage to hold the pen  ;) (and I'd like to see the council try to evict them  :innocent:)

On a side note.... I'm thinking of letting my 'big' pigs have a go at building their own outdoor nest in the wood this summer  (assuming we get a summer and not just rain) I'll let you know how it goes

So it's in his genes then Karen!
Keep up the breeding programme and you could have a sideline
