Title: Coloured Ryeland tup for sale, Carnoustie
Post by: Rosemary on April 03, 2013, 08:00:54 pm
We're changing blood lines so we're selling our 2010 Coloured Ryeland tup, Lingah Nemo MC0561.

Nemo is out of two white parents so brings new genetics to the coloured flock. He is by Airedale Keagan out of a Strathore ewe and has Catherton, Keepings and Ruslin blood in his pedigree.

Nemo won CR Ram Lamb, CR Male Champion and CR Reserve Champion at the 2010 Rare Breed Show and Sale at Carlisle and he stood first in the Coloured Ryeland ram class at the Scottish Smallholder and Grower Festival in 2012.

He did a good job of covering our nine ewes this year and his lambs ( born so far) are proving to be robust and quick on their feet. He has good feet and is healthy and robust. He is on the Heptavac P Plus programme.

If he's not sold privately, he will go to the Rare Breed Sale at Thainstone on 4th May, but I would prefer a private sale.

£200 ovno

Hi Rosemary
Would be intrested in your tup.
We have five pedigree CR to breed at the end of the year. This would be the first time for us.
How many lambs did you get and are they all coloured?

We had 15 lambs from 9 ewes. A coloured tup on coloured ewes will always throw black lambs, because the coloured gene is recessive. We have some white fleeced ewes and they've had a mix of white and coloured - but the white comes from the ewe not Nemo. HTH.

Where are you?

My family are happy to come half way for him if you wanted a swap with our CR.
