Errr!!!!!! I've bought a pig. ::) A GOS sow called Pru to be precise and I'll be picking her up the weekend after next. I've got to get my skates on now to get the place ready for her.
I'm going to have to join the BPA. That costs £50 even though I'll only have the one one sow but I don't have a choice if I want my new purchase to produce registered piglets.
I've booked her in for a few nights of passion with a pedigree boar in Colwyn Bay and the magnitude of what I'm letting myself in for , is just dawning on me. :o I'm feeling pretty excited I can tell you. After a break of 25 years I'll have my own Gloucester Old spots and cider too. What a combination :excited: :excited: :excited:

 welcome back to the world of pig breeding john.

How exciting. ;D ;D
We have had weaners but never gone the whole hog ('scuse the pun) with a sow in pig.
:excited: :excited: :fc: :fc: :D

We kept Landrace and GOS sows almost thirty years ago but this is a jump back in to the unknown for us. :o
-
As you have kept pigs before you should know they need company of their own type.
-
I do and its in hand. :innocent:

 ;)

That's good sorry to nag. :relief:

Thats no problem. All I've got to do now, is to persuade my wife that having a couple of weaners at the same time might be a good idea. Hence the :innocent:

sounds fantastic ... really looking forward to following the updates

Congratulations. Have you booked her in with one of Mary's? If so she'll be well looked after :excited:
-
So will she be in pig when you get her?
Nice synergy - make cider and feed the apple pulp to Pru = very happy pig ;D

I'll be borrowing a GOS boar about four weeks after she gets here.
