Title: fresh milk clotted on pasteurisation
Post by: little blue on April 01, 2013, 05:44:45 pm
just pasteurised yesterday's milk, having taken the cream off ... looks lovely!

Milked today & pasteurised it - it has kind of clotted.

little lumps, rather than stringy.
She has no signs of mastitis, kidded 4 days ago.

Is it just colostrum?!
not something we've experienced before (naive goatkeepers perhaps?!)

Have you tasted it? If it tastes odd it could just be that she could do with a Multivit/trace element booster/drench - may be low on Copper/Cobalt/Selenium.

But could be just colostrum....

Wouldn't know I just drink it as it is ;)  but seriously I agree with Anke
