Title: When to fluke/worm January born orphans?
Post by: twizzel on April 01, 2013, 03:31:37 pm
When is the earliest we can fluke/worm with Combinex? Born in late January/early Feb and aim to slaughter August/Sept and withdrawal is 60 days if I remember rightly. Last year we treated them once. I was thinking end of April begining of May?

Just looking at our bottle. 56 days withdrawal but doesn't say specifically about lambs. Just that it is safe for young sheep.
As for sheep, we fluked in January with combinex and were due to fluke again mid march, but 2 developed bottle jaw  before the due date (and one sadly died). The vet said with the wet weather people were fluking every 5 or 6 weeks.
So maybe lambs need to be done sooner than usual too.
Sorry I can't be more help. Can you ask your vet?
