hi everyone i had a phone call yesterday morning off the chairman of the allotment saying the pigs wer down on the main road ripping the rubbish bags open in the street and i thought it was a wind up but when i heard them grunting behind i realised i had get make an excuse in work and get back to sort it out when i got there he had managed to get them back in the allotment main gates so all i had to do was put them on my bit of land. he saw the funny side of it as he had had pigs before but i was concerned that they could have caused an accident or been hurt themselves but some thing was not sitting right with me as i made sure they were locked in before i went to work and there are three gate for them to get through before the get anywere near the main gate which they would never get through.
so working in the secuirty industry i dont trust anyone as i see and hear everything bad on a daily basis in work so i decided to borrow a tempory camera from work that i borrowed the first couple of night s i had them to check how they were getting out set it up last night i hid one in the tree oppisite and one in the main area
when i went up there this morning i was halfway up the path and they came to greet me HOW THE HELL DID THEY GET OUT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
played the footage back when i got to work this morning and i could clearly see that one of the other members is unscrewing the bar on the gate letting them out closing the gate and screwing it back on so i have been dow to see the chairman with the footage and thay are going to call him in and speak to him this guy is 68 years old has a plot nowhere near me but for some reason either wants me to get thrown off or cause conflict between me and other people or for the pigs to get hurt i cant belive how stupid some people can be !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Flippin heck!! Some people are just spiteful, don't suppose he'd be so happy if they caused an accident on the road involving his family . Love to be a fly on the wall when he's shown the footage! Surely there is some crime being committed???
-
do you have insurance cover incase of accidents ?
-
not a the moment thats next on the to do list on computer tonight what would be the best cover would i just need public liability?
-
Public liability would be the minimum and prob the quickest to get sorted.
-
Oh and well done for catching the perpetrator on film, what did he think he was playing at? If he had an issue with the pigs he should bring it up appropriately not put the pigs at risk and try and get you into trouble. :-((((
-
My advice on insurance is always to phone the NFU - we have a weird situation, being a community farm with loads of members coming and going and helping out and they were fantastic trying to understand what we get up to and how to make sure it is all covered, Hope you sort your problem out too!
-
Hi Gavin,
That's terrible isn't it. Why the hell would someone do that. I was going to ask you how you were getting on with the pigs on an allotment. We were offered a space on our allotment to keep pigs but then I got the fear that someone might go and pinch them or hurt them. I never even thought of one of the allotment holders doing anything like this! It's certainly put me off of keeping them there. Although a security camera would be good, the old farts running the allotment would probably say it was breaching personal privaacy or data protection or some rubbish like that! Hope you have no more problems now you've got this guy.
-
I can't believe that someone would do something like that
Well done for getting proof  Hopefully this plonker will be given his marching orders :fc: :innocent:
Glad the piggies are safely back in and fingers crossed they stay there now !

hi the pigs are getting on fine on the allotment as a few people there have even asked about borrowing them for a few days to dig up thier plots there has been no problems or trouble with anything we all tend to help each other some time i go there and their water has been refilled by some of the menbers if they have tipped it so my experience with an allotment so far up to this incident has been really good
with regards to this person i have found out this morning that he had pigs on her 5 years ago but when the allotment committe found out he did not have a holding number they told him to get rid of them asap so he has always held a grudge. all the members have a meeting at the start of the month where new membership is to be renewed and i was told this morning that his wont be renewed and will be served with a 3 month notice to leave
i have been up there this morning and put the cameras where they can been visable seen along with a not so polite note on the door and a printout picture of him unscrewing the bolt so he knows I AM WATCHING

Just rotten - what is it with some people. Why can't they live and let live? :-\
-
gotta say, i like your style!
its the technical version of a piece of 2x2
-
A few years ago I would have probably use a piece of 2x2 and thought of the repocussions later but one you get a little older have children you start to realise that dealing with it in a different way is probably best for all concerned. Now I think he will be more embarrased as his picture is up on the gate than me going after him like a bull in a china shop I learnt in the past that it will always come back on you
-
Yup, karma is a great thing ;) and so much easier than 2x2 :innocent:
-
We have kept two lot's of pig's at our allotment's with no bother at all
It's amazing how many of the 'old chap's' either used to be slaughtermen or once kept pigs
Hope that you have no more issue's Gavin :relief:

perhaps the 2x2 IS the karma?
-
I agree with alfa I hope no more issues
-
Gavin, that is awful, but good on you for catching the culprit - hope he feels like a 'right t0$$£r now!
-
so the storie continues had a visit from the mans daughter yesterday saying that if i did not remove the photo off my gate and tell the allotment to keep him in thier will be severe problems caused to my self and my family in the near future
its is starting to get comical now as she knows i install cctv cameras for a living and if i have a camera looking at the pigs surely she knows i have 2 big cameras outside my house with AUDIO covering mine and my wifes car and my front door some people are just too dumb to be stupid.
-
Eh what !!! :o
She sounds like a really nasty piece of work :-\ Talk about bully boy tactics :o
I hope you're going to the police about it - definately time to get them involved if they're not already.
I can't believe that people can behave like this ??? Where has all the respect gone ? :'(
Hope your piggies aren't bearing the brunt of their tiny minds :fc:
-
I bet her dads bigger than your dad! Or her big brother is gona duff you up! And that's why I hate the general public ;D
-
I hope those cctv cameras caught it on video with audio & you can hand it into the police & add harassment to the list x
-
Sounds like the 2x2 option might be the only thing these people would understand. I think taking all your evidence to the cops would be sensible.
-
i wont be going to the police yet but it is all saved nicely on a disk for them if it is needed i dont think she had realised that if something does happening she has not got a leg to stand on we will wait and see!!!!!!! hope your all enjoying the dry weather !!!!
-
I would definitely be reporting her to the police for threatening behaviour !!
-
Go to the police, Gavin, don't wait. God knows what these kinds of people are capable of, better to scare them off right now.
This is a serious threat, it's really a case for the police.
-
I wonder if these people perchance left a rucksack hidden on an allotment
-
Maybe they are axe welding robbers that bury money and wish to see all piggies roam free in a secret parallel universe
-
If they did bury the money I have two words for them and the second word ends in OFF!!!!! as some of the money has gone to a very safe place my bank account. And the rest went on my trip to italy to watch the six nations ( and I did tell my wife and she got a new pair of shoes) !!!

Shoes are always a wise investment ;D ;D

police have now been called went up tp feed the pigs this morning and all three of them are covered in white emulsion paint which has been thrown over from the side of the fence, cameras picked up the mans daughter doing it and 06.30 this morning and she even dropped the can of paint into the pen and was probably to scared to go in an get it for the police to recover the fingerprints which was nice of her :dunce: :dunce:three lots of images and recording and a can of paint for them to deal pigs all cleaned up now thank god it was cheap paint that washed off pretty easily
some people are too dumb to be stupid would love to be a fly on the wall when the police speak to the ugly cow
-
Oh dear she will get a smack on the wrist for that no doubt, some things just cry out for 2x2 justice
-
probably i things things will be done my end also
-
sorry spelling mistake on last post i think things will be done my end too
-
Just discovered this post. I'm so shocked at the behaviour of some people. Could it be arranged for a nice big pot of oil based gloss to be tipped on her or some glow-in-the-dark stuff so you can always see her coming? That would be yummy justice. Stupid cow! If they have a grievance at all, how sick of them to take it out on your poor piggies. Are they alright?
-
yes pigs are fine it washed off pretty easily thanks i am still waiting to hear off the police i had to go and give my statement i felt like i was the criminal coming out of there will probably hear something by the new year they dont seem to be rushing what makes it even more comical the policeman told me they will have to look at the evidence on my computer as they dont have the equipment to look at it at the local station and if they send it to another station they might not get it back
its seems to be one farce after another what is this country coming to ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
-
 What on earth is it with some people? I am totally shocked that someone would do this to animals and very saddened too - would love 5 minutes with her to tell her what I think of her despicable behaviour.

All I can say I'm shocked by some people's behaviour, thank god your pigs were unharmed from the road & paint. I do wonder what makes some ppl tick?...
-
I would say its unbelievable , but knowing some of the inbreeds that i have come across....
I hope they do prosecute her
-
Named and shamed, well done.
-
what happened to the guys allotment renewal? Did the man in charge stick to his guns and refuse to renew? I hope they prosecute too, father and daughters behaviour is disgusting. :huff:
