Title: How much hard feed for a lamb?
Post by: Bionic on March 25, 2013, 08:13:19 am
Can anyone tell me how much hard feed a lamb should have.
He will be a week old on Tuesday and went out for an hour yesterday while we mucked out the stable. So far he has only had mums milk but he seemed to be interested in the grass.

If you have enough grazing and the ewe is milking well do you need to give hard feed at all?  Ours are lambed in March/April, weaned at 16 weeks and don't get any creep.  They'll start to pick at grass in earnest after about 3 weeks.
