I really feel for you lot over the channel. I'm very happy to say that its so warm this morning, the front door is open to let the lovely fresh air in. It won't last though, dark clouds are above!

crazey is'nt it. hope you get to the flight soon.
21 degrees here according to FranceMeteo. But then I heard that this time last year there were temps of 30 in the UK that are now covered in snow.
I have no idea if I should crack on in the garden as if it is spring or if we will get yet another dump of snow soon.

I do not mind being a bit cold and only have chickens as I actualy love a cold dog walk, in all the years we have lived here its only the ice that stops me going out as once you are wrapped up its OK, the worse thing is getting around and travel, my husband uses his bike and the trains so can get stuck!!! I also have my daughters visiting, one from Austrailia....I may have to find more wellies for them ALL

I do not believe that the can predict the weather a month in advance - they can barely manage a five day forecast with any accuracy.

However, if they had been forecasting wall to wall sunshine, temps in the 20s with light rain overnight - I would have believed it  :eyelashes:

Just seen on BBC news that a farmer found a man dead in Lancashire, seems he was trying to walk home on friday night. Bad times for everyone in this weather.  :bouquet:

I was talking to a friend on Isle of Arran this afternoon, where the snow usually restricts itself to the mountain tops.  The west side of the island is cut off as the main roads which are quite high in places are closed by snow.  At the time, they had been without power for 37 hours.  She and her husband run a field centre and they have 50 kids and staff there who should have left yesterday morning.  There is no heating, no hot water and no means of cooking.  Not that there's much to eat because the deliveries are on Friday between groups of students.  My friend is ok as they have a rayburn and a solid fuel fire which heats the water but she is worried about the contents of her freezers.

There are times when I'm glad I left there.

Obvious and/or stupid suggestion - chuck the frozen stuff outside in the snow? Well, buried in animal-proof area/containers.

The fields around here are almost clear but the wall are acting like blades on a shaver and cutting the snow from the wind and holding it in large drifts on the roads. I've been using my tractor on a stretch of road of road to pull cars through and I can only describe it as Evil. Trying to get rope on to cars that have no quick way of 'snatching' them in a blizzard.

Gabi and I finaly got out this morning , the snow plough did get down the lane at the end of our drive yesterday afternoon so we took a chance , We were amazed that 5 miles away they had hardly had a dusting, LLandrindod Wells only had the lightest powdering , my neighbour further up our track has snow over the top of the tractor wheels , What a difference a mile or two makes.
So we should be heading for the airport about 0300 hrs Tuesday morning .  :relief:

That's good news, Tiz.  (About being able to get out, not the getting up at 3am)

:sunshine: :sunshine: and blue skies here.  Even snow doesn't look so bad with the sun shining on it.

Still snowing here this morning, Our landlord abandoned his tractor after getting stuck at the top of the drive two days ago , silly sod tried to drive through a 5 foot drift 1/2 a mile long and could not reverse because of the trailer sliding sideways.
