Ah, it's a great show
what would you all make? Can you cook?
I'd go for
Thai Duck Salad for starters
"Spicey" chicken provencale for my main
Flappleberryjack and cinnamon ice cream for pudding
-
SB - Menu sounds great when can we come and try it hee hee???
-
depends what everyone else is cooking! you get nothing for nothing in this life
-
I've just had French visitors - lst night we had.
Haggis and Garlic 'won tons' with Whisky sauce
Venison and summer veg casserole with roast Mediterranean veges and baby potatoes
Home made apple crumble with Scottish honeycomb Ice cream
They weren't able for the four Scottish Cheeses and oatcakes but they managed another 'wee dram'
-
Annie your Haggis won tons sound delicious. :yum: :yum:
I bet they would sell like hot cakes on my menu.
-
Feel free to try - they're delicious - especially with a nice whisky sauce. Just filo pastry squares about 3 inch, heaped teaspoon raw haggis, fold corners into middle. I did garlic ones separately and they're fine too. Cook at preheated 200 for about 10/12 mins
-
my favourite thai restaurant sells gorgeous "won tons" in a whiskey sauce - def get them on the menu
-
It's really hard these days to find nice haggis.
-
I used Halls, to be honest I don't know if it would make a lot of difference provided it was a reasonable one. The whisky sauce does change the flavour slightly. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm - glad I've still got some in the freezer yum yum
-
Defo gonna give them a try now.
-
Love Haggis but it is so filling :pig:
-
Best Haggis we've ever had was McSween's vegetarian (although a bit high on salt)! Second best made with lamb by the Newburgh butcher who sadly closed down last year. Worst is definitely Lids, yuk! Don't even want to know what's in it...:&>
-
After Burns night Tesco had some reduced to half price so I bough a large one and had it when my daughter visited, it was a good cheap meal that I loved but fels so full after my stomache felt like I had eaten bricks ;D ;D ;D
-
Macsweens is very good.
-
I like Ramsays haggis, they also do a really good black pudding which may contain some of my pigs blood when they ae slaughtered, making it more tasty!!!!
-
Defo gonna give them a try now.
and if you have them on the menu next time i am at your place i will have to try them,
hagis is almost as good a reason to visit scotland as racing my dogs is ;D

Love Haggis but it is so filling :pig:
These are tiny, Sandy - a starter - so not filling at all.
-
We have Beef Olives, stuffed with haggis on the menu and they sell very well!
-
Oh YUMMY!!! When I bring the kids and grandkids up to Guardbridge for Sunday Lunch in a few weeks time I'm having those!
-
Hiya all,
Am affraid i would have to back out from the come dine with me if you gona have thai food, As quite a lot has peppers in it which i have an alergy,
lol
My menu would be simple
Fruit thicky or pawn cocktail
Swedish meatballs on a bed of rice with tomato sauce
Caramelised Seasonal fruit with vanilla ice cream.
I think that would work and be very simple
-
Linz, that is a shame cos Thai food is my favourite. Just tell who ever is cooking "no peppers". I think I could live off it, I love hot and spicy foods.
-
It's a real pain in the royal @rse because as it isn't one of those things that is a reconised alergy (like dairy, glutten, nut) manufactor don't always specify it in large print, So i need to be really carefull (especially at the moment as i can't take tablets for it because of bump).
Manufactors have a habit of adding peppers to odd things so i have to me careful.
I love sweet and sour sauce but their is a common occurance for adding peppers in to the sauce at the moment.

-
but you're ok with aubergines, tomatoes and potatoes, Linz? It's probably the chilly powder added to a lot of foods. :&>
-
It's something to do with the skin and some kind of chemical they uses, Some times i am okay with organic or homeground ones but sometimes i get reactions to them.
so best to avoid altogether especialy at the moment.

I have just returned from Gujan-Mestras, near Arcachon - an area on the edge of a huge sheltered bay. The programme of our visit (French dog club) included numerous wonderful meals, mostly of seafood. I was eventually tempted to try oysters fro the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I had always said I would never eat anything that was still alive. Never say never
-
there are 2 things I can live without - slugs, even if cooked the River Cottage way and eggs which are near hatching day (like they love them in the Phillippines)...:&>
