This weather must be hitting all the garden centres hard. Easter is the start of their busy time yet who will be buying plants in this weather. Planting anything is going to be late what with frozen mud. Heard on our local radio this morning the buy one get one free at our local garden centre. They will have brought on lots of plants. such a shame.

I bought a kiwi plant for 6.50€ today and the shop was busy selling flowers for the dead. They do it twice a year here so it's good news for the garden centres and the MANY florists. I think that most UK garden centres have a tea room and do cooked lunches to ensure they get an income even when people can not garden. Good idea.

Judging by the number of on-line offers coming through from Suttons, T&M et al, it's not just the garden centres that are suffering,

my local small indi garden center had no customers to speak of over the easter at all ! As you say is their busy time.
Time for a bargain or two, but is a shame to see a good local business struggle
