Asking for a friend of a friend.
They have just lost their elderly Border Collie and looking for another bitch any age but would prefer not to take on a puppy as they are getting on a bit in age but still very active
They are experianced BC owners living in a rural area. Must be a house dog rather than a kenneled working dog
prefer in the north of england

Check with the Breed Society as they often have older dog for rehoming. We as club have 2 Brittanys on our website at the moment so I'm sure they will too.

try http://www.fostbc.org.uk/ (http://www.fostbc.org.uk/)

Border Collie Trust GB is another good place

Thanks I have passed them all on

Some breed specialist rescues:
www.wiccaweys.co.uk (http://www.wiccaweys.co.uk)
www.valgraysbcrescue.org.uk/ (http://www.valgraysbcrescue.org.uk/)
More general rescue - but specialises in collies - www.heathlands.org.uk (http://www.heathlands.org.uk)
Also - if they are on Facebook there is a very good group on there that concentrates on getting 'free to good home' collies off preloved and gumtree - their page is https://www.facebook.com/LilyChubbsCollieRescue?ref=ts&fref=ts (https://www.facebook.com/LilyChubbsCollieRescue?ref=ts&fref=ts)
Hope they find a new dog to cheer them up.
