Title: Roads closed because of snow,

The BBC scratched around for photos of Sussex roads closed due to the snow. Many poor people were stuck on the roads overnight and helicopter pictures showed ONE car at the side of a clear road with police in attendance.
About 1500 vehicles have been stuck in northern France since Monday midday.

Yes but you froggies have the last laugh when the sun is splitting the pavements in July  :sunshine: and we're still all  :cold:

True - everything stops here in July and August and I have to water the veg when the sun is down. It is impossible to get a builder to work in August and forget roofers between June and September - but my guess is that there were a few plumbers stuck in the snow yesterday ;D

I'm not quite sure why the BBC focussed so much on Sussex. We certainly had huge drifts over some of the roads here in Kent (just over the hill from us the farmer couldn't get his tractor out and had to use his forklift to shift enough snow to get through) and at one point the M20 was at a standstill for about 5 junctions due to various things. I think the BBC just found it hard to get the pictures! Having said that, I don't think any of the major roads were quite as deep under as your photo but I'm also not sure how that's happened -I thought only the UK would allow their roads to get that covered.
