Looks like Lilly is starting, she is very wet at her back end and scratching the straw a lot over the last half hour :thumbsup:

She has decided that she isnt ready yet !
As soon as she heard me doing the buckets up she was up shouting for her tea.
I have just checked her and she is munching on her hay ::)

But you will probably spend the night in the goat shed.... ??? or have you got a camera/baby alarm set up? I would like to have that but this year's budget hasn't stretched to it, and the goat house (and next to it the lambing shed) are too far for an ordinary baby alarm... :-\

Well she probably was till you woke her, she'll get enough sleepless nights after the kids are born!! ;D

Still nothing and she is totaly chilled out butttt..........
We have just been and collected the hot brewers grains from the brewery and normaly she goes mad for them , she has hardly touched them today :-\

Lilly has given birth to 2 Billy kids this morning :thumbsup:
would rather they where Nannys as wanted to keep her kids because they are unrelated to our boy but at least mum and kids are doing well

I have a sneeky feeling it's going to be a year for boys...
Anyway congrats on one down, several(?) more to go....
My next one due next Wednesday, and she is a goatling, so it may be another long wait...

Thats the one that we didnt have a due date for , snowdrop who was due on the 19th is showing signs now !

Snowdrop gave birth to one of each sex at 7pm tonight. had to help get the billy out first as one of his front legs was bent back but once that was sorted all was well and both kids are up and feeding.
next up is Apple , she is due tomorrow ::) 2 down 7 to go

The first twins are both very cute :love: But I've a feeling a stray springer spaniel may have met mum before your Billy :-J :D
love the White ones too. Their dad is definitely a Billy :love:.

Glad both went well! Are all the rest due soon, or are they a bit spread out? It's nice having them all together, but of course we have now gone from having 1 goat milking to 5 milking in a week, and it doesn't half increase the time needed out in the shed!

1 due today but she is showing no signs, she is a second kidder, 2 tomorrow , thats snowdrops mum and sister.
1 on Monday then mid april and early May

Well lets hope she doesn't kid in the middle of the night... really not what you want in a howling gale. I am back to late night checks, as 1st kidder/goatling due on Wednesday...

Well you have the production line all set up then...
One due tomorrow here, 1st kidder, quite slim... she just ate a double portion of lunch... but udder/puffy backend are there...

Well we have triplets again off Bluebell . Not a straight forward birth , first one was a girl who came backwards out of the sack with only 1 leg out so had to push it back in and then get the other leg forward. Got that one out and instantly a head appeared with no legs and then stopped ! got those legs forward and got it out (a Boy) and instantly a third head and 1 leg came and stopped. Got that one sorted (another girl) All 3 are now on their feet and mum is back to munching hay !
Remind me why we do this !

After another long night sadly Apple gave birth to a dead nanny kid, it was hugh almost twice the size of snowdrops kids who are 5 days old
At 3am i made the decision to try one of bluebells triplets on her who had only been born hours before.
Apple took to her instantly and the kid to her so at least both are happy

It sounds a busy 24 hours for you. Sorry to hear Apple lost hers. Sounds like she is happy to adopt, and gives the triplet a milk bank to itself :thumbsup:

We have 1 more Togg due mid April then 2 x 100% Boers late April and early may then that's everyone
Apple loves her adoptive daughter like she was her own and the baby sees Apple as her mum.
Bluebell isn't at all bothered that she now only has 2 even though they can see eachother

Sorry to hear about the dead kid but, as she was so large, it's a blessing you didn't lose Apple as well. What a happy end to the story.

That's the most important thing, all of our girls are special and the thought of loosing any of them is unbearable

The 2 sets of triplets, Apple at the side keeping an eye on her adoptive daughter
all of them are now in together with the mums. everyone runs to the right mums to feed and all 8 kids sleep in a heap :thumbsup:

Well my oh so slim 1st kidder surprised me today with producing triplets... and all very quick too. Checked her at 11.15 and although she was uncomfortable, she kept chewing her cud, so I went back into the house to warm up, came back out 1.5 hours later (thinking that she will be ages as its her first time...) and well, there she was licking three... one girl and wo boys. Sadly one boy wasn't right, his back legs were bent in a strange shape and his cord had been ripped off (either by over-enthusiastic mum or during the birth) leaving a large hole in his belly... so he had to be swiftly PTS :( . But the other two seem fine, and I have at least one girl so far! :) Next one due on April 7th...

All of those kids are 50% s the higher % and pure Boers are in the stables

Sorry you lost one. Bluebell was the same, she was the thinest of them all anjd for ages we thought she had not taken. yet she had triplets, where as the 2 hugh ones only had 1 each

Amber has just given Birth to Triplets :thumbsup: all strong healthy kids, up and feeding
2 nannys and 1 Billy :excited: At least she gave birth at a sensible time
