I brought a foodsaver (http:///shop/foodsaver/) from Lakeland (http://shop.accidentalsmallholder.net/goto/lakeland/)- a basic vaccum packing machine, £60ish with bags. I am seriously impressed with it - incredibly easy to use and the bags seem to be nice and thick. For your own food, extending its fridge and freezer life etc ..... I'd give it 10/10! Absolutely Ace.

I've got a Foodseala and I love it too
Last week I vac packed nearly 2 lambs before going into the freezer and it worked a treat.
It's definately worth the money, as you said, Mrs Snoodles to exrend the shelf life of food.

I love mine too, Ive had it over 8 years now. I buy cheddar in bulk and chop it into smaller pieces and package it it stays much fresher. The bags are better for freezing too as they are so strong. The rolls of the film can be expensive, but I got them from a company on Amazon and they were great and much cheaper.
