Title: red insect / bugs

it might be a daft question but i have found some small red insects / bugs in the pigs water trough, can anybody tell me what they are? the water trough is emptied weekly & topped up with fresh water daily.

Sounds like Red Spider Mite - Google it and have a look. Shouldn't be a problem to pigs but they will infest birds.

no red spider mite are not the blood suckers they are a pest on plants. but could well be them. any chance of a picture.

Unfortunately the other half killed them so no picture but if i see any more then i will get them to smile for my mobile phone!!
