Title: Worming ewes
Post by: Bullseye on March 05, 2013, 07:28:21 pm
Our Ryeland ewes were wormed before tupping around October time- one of them has lost condition and has mild scours (no change to diet/grazing) would it be wise to worm them all again now to rule worms out? We have some endospec drench which I believe is fine to use at this stage.
The first is due to lamb on 5th April  :sheep:

I would take a faeces sample and have it tested. Fluke can also cause loss of condition and won't be detected by a worm egg count.

Fluke has been very bad this year.  I gave all mine a fluke dose when they had their booster vaccination.

My thoughts too- endospec is also a flukicide so should do the trick- just needed another opinion for peace of mind! Thanks guys  :sheep:
