Title: grey matter in egg
Post by: northfifeduckling on March 04, 2013, 07:01:14 am
I found a grey lump inside a duck egg, just adjoining the yolk. The egg was about 3 weeks old and the lump looked a bit like mould - not brains in case any of you wants to crack a joke on this egg  ::) . Could it be mould? How? :&>

More likely a tiny bit of tissue from the hen's oviduct, before the shell was added  :chook:

I have seen it in duck eggs occassionally.....even fresh ones usually towards the end of the season. Never seen it in chicken eggs though
