-
iv done a ton off wood this week goose pimple take a look at my log spliter pto driven built it last week it can do a log as big as a 3 seater no more chain saw
-
Wow, log splitter envy....we need a chimney sweep again, our fire has started smoking a bit when its been going for an hour.......the other day the wi fi smoke alarms kept going and going and going, I put the fire out several times....its cold but not too bad here in Clackmannan...just hot water bottle and I am fine!
-
It feels as cold as your area VF but is nowhere near as pretty. It has been a grey, gloomy day today :gloomy: with poor attempts at snowing. :cold:
-
interesting addition of a side plate... is that to stop the logs from turning under the screw?
-

Snow? No snow around here, zilch, nothing.... but then I am miles away from you.... about what 20 miles???
-
Minus 8C this morning but the atmosphere is too dry for frost to form , just bone chilling cold, not propper snow just very fine powder like spindrift trying to fall.
The local pawn broker's sign is just three sticks now.

I have been watching it snow this morning here, it is still bitter! Brrrrrr.
-
I could do with some bitter :innocent:
It's a pleasant morning here, about +3 there, it went down to -1 over night but cloud cover prevented frost it it carries on like this the ground might dry in 2 months :gloomy:
-
2 deg but its actually dry!!! yay!!
-
Cold and dry here, sun is even trying to get out :sunshine: Hope it stays dry as planning on getting digger in to make me some paths then I can take up the pallet duck boards.
-
Its hovered around the freezing mark here this morning, earlier on it was -3. Its the wind though, it cuts right through you, its bitter. I wont let OH out as it would affect his breathing too much. He fell UP the stairs yesterday and has buggered his left arm, so he HAS to stay in and take it easy!! We are expecting some snow tomorrow, Monday and some of Tuesday, but they are showing single flakes which means light snow (hopefully)!
-
Just above freezing here now. But DRY :excited: . Great, brill ..... mud is frozen.
Clean dogs, clean children :excited: .
-
:snowman: snow, snow and more snow here. The gritters forgot our portion of the a1 when I went tom work at 7am this morning ::) southbound was blocked by two cars horizontal. The drivers got out and looked ok of not a bit shaken :-\
-
Anke, peaks and troughs, snow is always so local and we seem to get it at our bit more often than most, we're quite high up here.
VF, that's not a log splitter its a weapon of mass destruction, would split more than logs I reckon.
I got carried away by the couple of warm days and got 2ft cut off my hair (yes that's 2ft) and have been wearing a cosy fleece hat ever since, doesn't come off until bedtime :D was much to the disappointment of our 9yr old son who cried when he saw me, took a bit of coming round :-* I just look the same if I keep the hat on but it'll be another 2 years until it grows back :D
-

You can grow 2ft of hair in 2 years? It'd take me around ten years to grow that length.
Bit chilly here. :cold: :cold: :cold: The sun did make an effort to come out but decided it was too cold and went back in again. Yesterday we had a few flakes of the nasty white stuff (NWS) but none today. Hope it passes us by. I do not like NWS.
-
bit chilly here too (+3 to +4 in the mornings - indoors)
But DRY :excited: And I've seen more :sunshine: in the last 2 weeks than in the entire summer/autumn/winter put together. So I'm not complaining.
-
You're right mab, lets be greatful for small mercies, and it's hard underfoot, no mud.
What you building with a kit frame VF - a nice gallery to show off all your lovely pics?
-
I nearly got caught out by :sunshine: last week. It was cold and the ground hard underfoot but I was very active cutting wood and kept warm. A few flecks of snow and frozen water of a morning is not unusual. We woke to snow yesterday and just a trickle of water in the house - pipes nearly frozen despite new lagging in the barn. I let a tap drip last night - snow been falling since 06:50
Looks like another day stuck in the house unless the snow stops and I can find something to do out of the cold wind.
-
It started snowing in the wee small hours and has been constant. We've had big flakes and little bits. The forecast is for snow all day today and tomorrow and Tuesday morning. It always looks very picturesque here when it snows as there are so many fir trees around. It just feels as if it should be December not February!
-
Good day for you Petit frogs to look at recipe books and seed catalogues I think
-
I wanted to do so much, but I really cannot handle it, it is just so bitter. I have some new friend visiting as well and wanted to take some photo's, a handful of Pheasants which follow me for corn and talk to me, they are gorgeous, and I have noticed a green woodpecker and he looks like he wishes to make a home in the very bottom oak
-
Snow snow and snow here. I am not sure if it has stoped since I woke up to a few inches of the white stuff before 07:00. Nearly out of logs agian so i best venture outside again before stacking the fire and setting the kitchen tap to drip before bed. A dripping tap will keep the pipes from freezing.
-
goosepimple (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=4222) I'm building a shed 2 houses wide and 2 long its for when i PAC up in 4 ya res time
-
...you men and your sheds ::) ..
-
Woke up to a fairly thick covering of the white stuff this morning, despite my fear of it, I managed to drive to the doctors for my appointment, it was quite slippery in the car even with 4wd. On the way back it was slightly better as the temperature had risen, and now its nearly all gone and its raining..but its still bitterly cold with freezing wind. No wonder my hands are cold and dry!!
Im not usually a summer person, but Im seriously looking forward to it this year!
-
Third day of snow here so it is pretty thick and the hunt was on this morning for the ducks and rabbits food and water bowls. The watering can we moved into the kitchen last night must have split with the ice so when it thawed we had a nice puddle to mop up.
Despite the deep snow our neighbour clears the lanes en route to feed his cattle so the post woman and home helps all turned up for work today ( winter tyres of course).
-
not good mak all fine in scotland 8 th day of sun light till 5.45 so i think spring is round the corner
-
Great to have the sun but -8 with us last night. Snowdrops in the garden looking sweet, love to see them. Gives me hope that better days are almost here.
-
YES THINGS AT LAST LOOKING UP WETHER UP TO MONDAY AT LEAST
-
Still foggy here today, and a bit cold but the sun is going to peep out soon, now should we stock up on logs???? :innocent:
-
A bit on the cloudy side but milder today.
