Does anyone have soays for sale? I am in Lewis.

Don't they just run around wild like in your area Chris, or is it just that you can't catch them ;D .
Maybe try out the RBST website, go to Marketplace then Stock Exchange - you can put your own advert on requesting there too.
Think there must be lots round your general area, it's just finding your advert I expect. Good luck Chris, they're lovely wee creatures.

If they are running wild they are only doing it at night! I have had adverts in the local feed merchants, even the CoOp! and nothing. They are wild on St Kilda but that is quite a swim and they do not move from the island. Locally it is just blackface and cheviot, I want the wool for spinning (yes I know it is not easy, to gather or spin). but I have a tweed in mind that uses the three local breeds, i have Hebs and Boreray I just need the Soay!!

I have some soay I collected from the field last year, it's full of grass and bits though plus some the shearer got when he was giving them a bikini trim - not that much, a basin load (maybe a bit less), you would be welcome to it, PM me your details if interested (free of course!), could also send you a castlemilk moorit or ronaldsay fleece too if you like (or both), you could buy me a coffee if I'm ever up your way as payment. ;D Have been meaning to felt it with the kids but by the time it's warm enough again to do that outside :gloomy: (too messy inside with kids) it'll be shearing time again. ::)

Just thought - did it arrive ok Chris? The bigger is a NRonaldsay called Odette (that was her first shearing) and the small bag was Soay bits from various soay.
