I can totally relate to all of that. My golden retriever would apparently 'calm down' when she got to 4 years old, shes now 5 and still as mad as a box of frogs! The brain functions especially ring true!!

I can relate to it too. 
My dog is 16 months old and very scatty. My sister said that hers used to be like that but he has calmed down now but he is ELEVEN  :(
