Post by: gavin davies on February 17, 2013, 04:49:27 pm
Hi everyone just been given 20 cabbages from my local fruit and veg shop. They are not in the best condition but they are not mouldy would it be ok to give them to the pigs

Many thanks

Of course ! Last year we strung a few up in the cellar pulled off the outside leaves and gave them one each a day. Cabbage has the same affect on the pigs as it does on us .  Phew  :innocent:

Cabbage is meant to be good for their blood so if you plan on making black pudding then maybe store the cabbage and give them to the pigs a couple of weeks before you slaughter them.
