Hi there everyone, I'm Tom. I am a countryside ranger and I have decided to start growing veg for the first time!
I've spent all week clearing an area in my garden, burning the brash and coppicing some hazel to create space for a patch. I've dug down beneath the root system of the many weeds and wild plants that were there before and now I about to go out there and mix in some compost to the soil. I'm going to start with Garlic, Onions and Potatoes this year. With some of the potatoes being grown in tyres (hopefully!)
We also have a couple of chickens and a Springer to keep us occupied!
So hello!
Tom :)

Hi and welcome from a beautifully sunny Carms/Pembs border. We moved here from West Sussex 5 years ago......whereabouts are you?

We are in between Horsham and Crawley. We live in the Country Park that I work at. Just planted my garlic and a couple of potatoes in a tyre! Also been given a few strawberry plants from one of the other rangers. Very exciting!

Welcome! We house hunted in your neck of the woods last year but ended up in Kent. Just put my first potatoes upstairs (unused bedroom) for chitting today!
