Title: Spring clean - Greenhouse

Ok I'm sure I saw a thread on cleaning a polytunnel but for the life of me I cannot find it now.

The sun is out and I have ventured into the garden and cleared out the green house. There were the remains of my failed peppers from last year and a few slugs. Any suggestions on what I can do to give the greenhouse a good clean. We had aphids last year which I'm guessing I can't do much about but with the peppers slowly rotting away over winter I want to make sure it is as disease free for next year.

Is there anything I can wash old plant pots in to avoid carry over of disease?

Jeyes fluid I think is your answer if I remember correctly?  i am also contemplating cleaning my greenhouse out today - been prevaricating too long....

I think I read on here that Jeyes was quite poisonous to cats. Would something like the dettol that is ok for cats still be ok for plants?

Jeyes really is the best. Cant you keep your cats away till it dries?

Hi Dans  :wave:   a good organically acceptable product is Citrox, from the Organic Gardening Catalogue.  It's citric acid based.  You need to scrub your greenhouse, especially in all the cracks and crannies, with an ordinary product such as Ecover washing up liquid, to remove visible dirt and spores, then wash over again with the Citrox.  Scrub all your flower pots and seed trays to the same regime too.
