I'd have thought any of the large breeds but I'm no expert. I've got Silver Appleyards which I'm hoping to breed from (first egg today - yay!) and I believe they're good eating although yet to try myself. They certainly look like they'd have a lot of meat on them!

We have Aylesburys & Aylesbury x Muscovy for our meat ducks - Nice size, Lovely meat.  1 duck will do a good meal for us & the 4 kids.

Ill see what eggs ebay are selling. :)

They will all hatch at approx the same time so hopefully Ill get a good mix of breeds and then see which I like the best.

Muscovies are good, they make a large lean carcass and are excellent mothers.  You can cross them with a Pekin drake for an even better hybrid, apparently.
