Well, she had us all hanging on as usual ::) and did it in the middle of the night again ::) :tired:
But Adelaide has had her piglets - 10 little boars and gilts all doing well so far  We've a mix of black and white, ginger and black and plain black  :pig:  There were two that were still born unfortunately :'( but as she's only got 10 teats and has struggled with the bigger litters in the past, I'm still very, very happy :excited: :excited: :excited:
Here's a quick picture, more to come in the next few days  And if anyone is looking for Kunekune piglets in Scotland, just drop me a pm or email [email protected]

They are gorgeous. I want one of the gingers, shame you're at the other end of the country :-[
How many piglets have you got altogether now? Sounds like a handful!

Shhhhh, don't let the OH hear you ;) :innocent:
There are 42 piglets in total here at Yonderton at the moment (but they do range in age from 8 weeks to 8 hours ;)) it's not that many really :innocent: (in the grand scheme of things, when you count up all the rest that are here :o :roflanim:)
I think I will have to be a bit ruthless this summer, cut back a wee bit and also not offer to take on any more 'rescues' for the forseeable  ...........maybe ;) :innocent:

42 :o :o :o !!!!!!
That's sounds like a lot of fun...and a lot of hard work. Would love to see a pic of your whole gang when you get a chance!

Tis a lot of work ::) especially because they're all inside with their 6 respective mum's. But we've got a good penning system sorted now so it only takes around an hour and a half to feed and clean them all in the morning and a quick half hour feeding them at night :relief:
If the weather improves enough they'll all get out together in the big field before they're weaned, but it's not looking very likely :-\ But if they're all out and it's a sunny day you can bet on photo's BEB, I love showing off my piggies :excited:

Congratulations and well done to Adelaide :excited:

I bet there's quite some noise at feed time! Do you wear ear plugs?!

No :D They're actually not that bad
I used to be able to sneek to the shed in and do a pen at a time, so by the time they realised I was there they already had food and no need to shout ;) But then the blimming cows arrived ::) Jack is tall enough to see me coming in to the shed and his moo's alert the pigs now - but it's still more just grunting, they must be too well fed ;)
