This was a 'weave-along' on a group I belong to on Ravelry. That is, to weave some fabric and make some bear.

I have really enjoyed making him. And it's the first thing I've made from fabric I've woven, as opposed to just weaving scarves and throws.
Won't impose this one on a kid, I'm not sure how well he'd wear, but I can see me making more ;D
Just warped my loom to make some skirt fabric now........ ;D

Thats lovely and so personal for a nice present for some one....love the colour!!!!
-
Thank you :)
I think this not-so-little guy is mine, as he is all wool, and stuffed with the felted-on-the-sheep wool from my Shetlands last summer.
I guess to do one for a child it might be better in synthetic bear-fur? Well, I could weave synthetic and stuff it with polyester I'm sure.
I'd just like to say - filling a bear's tummy with plastic pellets - oh good grief what a mess! I thought of using my milk funnel after I'd poured pellets on the table, the floor, the dogs....... ::)

That is just lovely, Jaykay. :trophy:
You could give up the day job and start your own business. They would make really special gifts.

Thank you :-*

He is a boy to be proud of  you are so good at craft, It is wonderful seeing the wide range of items you make, a surprise every time :D
-
Thank you :) Yeh, the bear was a surprise to me too, but it was fun, it was a good idea of the woman who started it off
-

I want one.
-
Ah well, you'll be able to make one
-
Jaykay he is just gorgeous  Did you have a pattern for the pieces?
I am going to my first weaving class on 19th Feb so who knows what will materialise after that
-
Thank you :)
Yes, I used a pattern. It was Baffin (http://www.bearbasics.co.uk/baffin-pattern/p227), from BearBasics (http://www.bearbasics.co.uk/), where I got his joints, eyes and the infamous plastic pellets from too.
Prepared to get hooked on weaving ;D How exciting ;D

OMG OMG OMG - he is just GORGEOUS. Well done ewe - WHAT an achievement
-
Thank you :)
He is sitting on my kitchen table as I type. Mum and Dad have just been round and even Dad liked him ;D
He is very appealing. I can see I could get into making bears. Not that I need bears at all. I need work skirts, jackets and scarves, maybe even bags - but not bears :D
-
I'd buy one... maybe more... :eyelashes: :innocent:
