Title: Homemade moisturiser.....
Post by: FiB on January 31, 2013, 12:10:44 pm
Now I know lots of people say that moisturiser isnt necessary - but I like it and feel I need something to protect my poor face in this weather ecpesially!!!

finally got around to making own moisturiser last night  - what a revelation!  Easy peasy (although I have spent quite a bit on some ingrediants like emulsifying wax and vit c powder) and smells like a really expensive spa type brand.  Happy Happy!  Used James Wongs basic recipe and chucked in things that i wnated more of...

Melted in double pan...  1 tsp beeswax, 2 tsp shea butter, 6 tsp emulsifying wax and 1 tbl sp almond oil.  took off heat, whisked in 200ml liquid (mine was green tea, chamolmile and oatmeal - lumps strained out!), stirred in esential oils (rose and geranium) 1 tsp vit c powder.  and poured into sterile jars.  It is divine!!!!

Well done, Fi.  Now we want before and after photos so we can see how much of an improvement it makes.
