Title: first pork!!!!

well the girls  :pig: came home today so have spent the evening wrapping sausages etc and treating ourselves to our first meal of home reared pork in the shape of belly strips & sausages, smells divine and yes you were all right, we are soooooo ridiculously proud of ourselves  :excited:

Well done ..... I know that feeling even though it was a long time ago..... even now your own produce....nothing like it  :thumbsup:

We have almost finished our first pig and very tasty he was too and looking forward to the next one going into the freezer in April :innocent:
There is nothing quite like eating home reared pork (a meat that we did not eat much of before) but, oh, how much better it is when it is your own ;D

Enjoy and be proud.
We had fish tonight ( mussels and prawns actually) as we have killed our 2 pigs and nine rabbits and are fed up of meat, sausage, bacon and ham in the kitchen.
 
Wow Belly of pork and sausages ! Did they float in Yorkshire Pudding  :thumbsup: ?

Just hope you enjoy the rest of your produce and are planning the next lot.

Maybe we should all share pork receipes or at leats what we ate tonight so as to get the best from our hard work.

Well done, nothing like the taste of home reared pork.

thanks everyone, can't take any credit for the cooking side of things OH does all that. The dog was near beside himself last night as we cooked off the bones for him,
had a close one though as OH was cooking a massive pork roast (3.5 hours) when our power went off just as he took it out of the oven  :relief:
20 hours later we are back on the grid  :excited: but its still wild out there!
