Title: Cost for stock fencing
Post by: waveneygnome on January 24, 2013, 09:31:23 pm
I have a large unloved field (10 acres) and was looking into the cost of stock fencing approx 820 meters.

I have asked a contractor to quote, and has come back at £5.42 per meter +vat, plus £300 for 12ft galvanised gate with posts fitted.  Fence quoted is '8-80-15' for sheep grazing.

Does this sound reasonable?

I have seen their work (which looked good.....like I'd know??) and spoken to a couple of their customers (but silly me didn't ask about price).

We paid approx this for stock fencing with barbed wire or wooden rail across the top, with posts spaced at every 1.8 meters.

www mcveighparker.com
100metre stockwire £62.80
75mm x 1.65m posts £1.86
If they can deliver to your area no charge over £250 ?

Have found them very good particularly if you do the work !!

Thats where we get our things from as well. Never had a problem and if you fancied doing it yourself would save some pennies but I can understand if you dont!. Normally comes the next week.
